About NYE Details (...and the Karmic Rebalancing...)

Previous Entry NYE Details (...and the Karmic Rebalancing...) Jan. 3rd, 2006 @ 08:58 pm Next Entry
NYE this year was prob one of the better, and more memorable. Special thanks to planetboy for making the arrangements. Friday was driving... Saturday was chill out in the cabin in South Lake Tahoe, followed by casino time (since the power went out from the rain, and we didn't want to freeze to death). Sunday and Monday were snowboarding... and it was good.

In all honesty, I could have crashed out on NYE... for some reason, we were all tired... but I made it to 12:02, and then I crashed. It's not like I'm missing anything special... I mean, this whole "New Year's Eve" thing happens at LEAST once a year, right? ;)

Showboarding on sunday kinda sucked... Rebecca and Hubby had gone... Rebecca stayed at the cabin and Lee tried snowboarding. I felt bad for him... 80 mph winds don't create the best conditions for learning to board. He was a champ though, and I hope he does give it another try. Monday was WAY better. The winds were gone, but the snow stayed... so, by the time you went on a run and got back up the lift, your tracks were gone. Fresh powder, 100% of the time. I started playing on some black diamond runs.... YAY for progress :)

Two major high points:
shawath and I have had some long-standing drama... but his positive attitude toward me helped me to finally get over it this week. Well... that, and the fact that (in no small part because of the positive attitude) we were finally able to talk about what had happened (and clarify that it, in fact, hadn't). So, problem solved there. All I can say is, A) Boys Lie, and B) Over-reaction is bad.

Second was The Amazing Karma RebalancingTM. Apparently the world felt it owed me one for the shit that it's put me through this year, since playing slot machines was more like visiting ATMs. I'd walk up to one, put in $20, and walk away with $300. After the first spin. Repeatedly. For the year, I'm up like, $800. Thank you, Caesars Tahoe. My credit cards are greatful. :)

I invited y'all up my way for NYE, but given the icy state of the roads it's just as well you didn't come. I had other guests here too, but it sounds like you had plenty of your own fun. Happy New Year!

Hrm... that particular invitation never quite made it to me, or I may have been annoying enough to the rest of the crowd to take you up on it. ;)
